I got a surprised call from future mummy-in-law. She was surprised that I din fetched Love like i always do. Coz my plan for that night was just to have it simple: nice ambience, good food and great company. Then she insisted on me coming over. Told me that I have to come. haha. So baby dropped by my place and we took taxi to his home. The funny thing was when we reached there, all the windows and door were closed and there wasnt a single light on, when it was so obvious that they were at home since the car was there and all their shoes were at the shoerack too. And the biggest surprise was when we opened the door, all of them popped the party-popper thingy. I was trying hard not to laugh out loud coz hey, how often did you get to see two 53 years old doing the popping thing. lolz.
Had great dinner of Nasi ayam and big chocolatey cake and Love got himself a BeetleBug slippers from the new mempelai. haha. Around 10pm, we made a move to my house to pick up the packed food for a simple picnic at west coast. Yupz we did picnic. We sat under the sheltered seats, laid the plastic mat, sit on top of it, eat the Nasi ayam i cooked(yupz, i happened to cook the same lauk as mummy mertua. amazing. And Love was sweet enuff to save half of his stomach for my cooking). It was an enjoyable moment together. Although we got alot of curious stares, where couples from far tried to walk closer and closer and even walked through the shelter just to see what were the two-malays doing. haha. And once they saw the mini picnic, we were surprised with the smiles from the ladies. awwww.. We ended the day with a tub of ice-cream together. Felt guilty big time coz we ate a lot. blehz.
Saturday morning, we dragged our asses to the gym and spent 2 hours there. After we were convinced that we did enuff justice to compensate for all the calories from lastnight dinner n supper, we were shot guilty again with the nasi padang at geylang, courtesy of the hungry future parents-in-laws. tsk tsk tsk. I was sent home late, and hence the late meet up later.
I left Love the first clue for our first meet up at Bugis coffee shop, in his wallet. The clue was "Which coffee shop is the first shop i was very reluctant to eat at? Meet me there at 5 sharp".
And you see, before meeting him, i have to check in the hotel earlier to set up the "picnic on bed" and the diy fondue set and the candles around the room and the glow in the dark stars on the walls. I was 45min late and yes, SHAME ON YOU, SHOFURAH!. Ok, watever. So, the birthday boy was earlier than me.
The next clue given was a snippet taken from one of the post, dated tuesday may 16, from my blog ...
where off to sentosa we went.
All set for skyride!!!
but when we saw the queue. We went o-ohhhhhh.Punyalah panjang. Plan for skyride kena cancel. boohoo. Love saw the disappointment in my eyes and he was sweet to tell me that he'll plan a day of fun for both of us at sentosa and luge n skyride will be included. yeay.
The 3rd clue was to role-play, where i gave myself the liberty to boss him around, telling him where to go. So all the places we went next was the places i need to grab the food. So i managed to grab his spaghetti n garlic bread from pasta mania, double meal sets from BK for me and him, tub of ice cream(again) and pepsi from cold storage. He was pening coz he kept driving round and round. I felt good but penat myself, coz im the one literally RUNNING.

clues.. cards.. envelopes.. hmm
Once done, i gave him direction to the hotel. I did not tell him where we were going, coz i knew he would have been mad and bukak one of his syarahan agama and i would have ended up having kuliah isyak(if there is one). So yes, it din sound right but heck. I know what i was doing of course. Furthermore its the season of raining, wouldnt want to play guessing games on mother-nature. Once we reached there, i rushed upstairs first coz i need to light up the 27 candles around the room. haha. But this man, just couldnt wait outside for more than 10min, let him in half way while lighting.
He was amazed. Could see how wide his jaws were opened. I felt proud of myself and i am simply elated at the fact that he appreciated every single detail of it. We had dinner on the bed. Suppose to eat primp and proper, but we were too tired and damn hungry, so we just ate straight from the wrappers or plastics. haha.
While eating, i gave him the 4th card, a challenge for him to spot the resemblance of that day with a particular date we had.. And amazingly, he got it correct. It resembles that particular day on 6th feb where he brought me to tanjong pagar railway, cablecar ride and a picnic. And that was the sweetest date that made me go wow and high for days. *grins*
Once dinner was done, before moving on to the choc fondue set at the side of the bed, i passed him a small card with the question, " what is your birthday wish?".
He replied an adorable yet truthful answer and not only did he got himself a birthday kiss, but also a RAOUL shirt neatly wrapped up in Raoul gift box and placed in a Raoul shopping bag. (I was irritated wif him coz he could still focus on the match on tv!!)
Nice. If only i videod his reaction. He went "ohhhh.. hahahah... ohhhhhh hahaha" like for 30 seconds. It din take long to persuade him to try on his new shirt.(eksen malu konon.. haha). And he loves it alot.. and I... love it too.
It was one size bigger though. blehz. blame the "kero" sales girl at the store?
Next up was the fondue eating.. He was impressed by the setting and was most amazed to know that i only spent 4bucks to make my own diy fondue set. haha. Im serious. Scrap the idea of buying expensive fondue set that cost like 30bucks when u can get this at local stores. haha.
yupz. Nice, tasty and affordable. I used redman semi-sweet cooking chocolate for the dip. I was told that i could put max brenner out of business. lolz. flattered i was.
Once we satisfied our hungry stomach and he finished watching his soccer match, we spent half an hour cleaning up the place, coz seriously we did a big mess in there. Love helped to peel off the glow in the dark stars on the walls (it din even glow seh). I have to throw away all the 27 candles and clean up the picnic mess, dumped unfinished food and unused utensils into two big paper bags. We din finished the ice-cream tub we bought so we left it as a "sorry-we-made-a-big-mess" gift on the table. *grinz*
And we thought that our day ended on a sweet note, but na-ah, we were surprised by what we saw later at the illegal parking lot. Punyalah pandai orang tu. He could park safely somewhere near but he did not. Although we did not get fined, we spent half an hour thinking about How the f*** were we supposed to go home ......... when the car was.................
hanging UP there!
The next half an hour, we godeh2 the buttons and switches there. One an engineer, the other a programmer , cheh, mcm real kite dua. Nothing happened to the rack though. That was then that Love noticed a sticker with a locksmith's number near the switch. Gave that apek a call and was relieved to know he'll be there in half an hour time.
So we wait... and wait.. and wait... from standing still, to slouching at the pagar, and lastly, we sat and did cuddling at a corner, looking at the starry night sky and once in a while, we looked at the car and laughed. That was then he said, "This is the most different b'day i ever had". lolz.
After a freaking 1 1/2 hour, that blardy apek came, and this super-skilled apek took out one big bag of keys, where Love commented that he could rob a bank anytime. haha. And the most unbelievable moment was when he took out a mini screwdriver from the bag, and unscrewed the switch box. Me and Love went "WTF!". *smacks forehead*.
After that, paid the apek 30bucks and we went home, dazzled. That saturday was indeed a memorable, sweet, intense, funny, enjoyable and great birthday. And i am happy that you enjoyed yourself. *smiles*
Ps: Someone is so semangat bout planning the 1 yr anniversary this coming february. ooooh interesting *grinz*
